Making a brochure in Canva: tips for A4 print

Create an A4 document in Canva (210 × 297 mm), use 2, 4 or a multiple of 4 pages up to 28, export it as a print PDF and upload it to Slim Folderen. That way, your Canva brochure is printed one copy at a time and sent by post.

Watch the colours in Canva

Canva works mainly in RGB. The print PDF approximates CMYK, so bright neon on screen can come out more muted. Order a single proof copy to your own business address first, so you can judge the colours.

Bleed in Canva

Run backgrounds to the edge (and into the bleed, if available). Keep text away from the corners. See also the article on 3 mm bleed.

   New A4 design

   Choose A4 or set 210 × 297 mm. Add bleed if Canva allows it (3 mm).

   Count the pages

   Use 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 or 28 pages.

   Embed the fonts

   Use Canva fonts or upload your own; avoid live web fonts in the PDF.

   Export the PDF

   Download as a PDF for print. Flatten the PDF where possible.

   Upload and send

   Upload it to Slim Folderen. We print it in A4 and deliver it via PostNL.
