Why brochure page counts are divisible by 4
A stapled brochure is made from folded sheets: one sheet gives you four pages (front and back, left and right). That is why 8, 12, 16 and so on up to 28 pages are the standard. Slim Folderen also accepts 2 and 4 pages, but not 6 or 10.
Signatures in brief
Picture an A3 sheet folded to A4: you get four printed sides. Stack several of those sheets and staple them through the middle, and the page total goes up in steps of 4.

Have 10 pages of content? Add two pages (a cover, notes or a call to action) or cut it down to 8. A 10-page PDF will be rejected.
